As they were last year, our judges were quite impressed with the quality of the essays that we received, and are pleased to report that the following students have been chosen as the winners of QAHN’s 2015 Heritage Essay Contest:

1st Prize ($150 with Certificate): Noa Goldberg, Grade 6, Gardenview Elementary School: “Bessie Goldberg.”

2nd Prize ($125 with Certificate): Lacey Baillairgé, Grade 6, Gardenview Elementary School: “Charles Baillairgé.”

Honourable Mention (Certificate): Justine Lin, Grade 6, Beacon Hill School: “The Chinese Lion Dance.”

The winning essays will be published at a later date on this website and in our print magazine, Quebec Heritage News.

Exceptionally this year, first, second and third prizes were awarded to three students at the same school -- Gardenview Elementary in Saint-Laurent, whose teacher, Nina Wong, should be very proud. Last week, QAHN past president Rod MacLeod visited Gardenview Elementary School to present the prizes in person to the students.
